Gotham Knights is shaping up to be one of the year’s most divisive games, to say the least. While some simply wish that Gotham Knights featured more Arkham-like gameplay, others are more upset by elements of the game’s story and lore. Truth be told, that red-hot debate isn’t going to be cooled by the game’s controversial and bold ending. Gotham Knights tasks Batgirl, Red Hood, Robin, and Nightwing (as well as the player) with saving Gotham City in the wake of Batman’s death....

But a recent Twitter post by director James Gunn gives fans hope for something more. Earlier today, Gunn posted photos of a wrap gift he received from members of the crew. The photo shows eight holiday ornaments, each displaying a Guardian. The familiar faces are there, as well as a festive-looking Kraglin. But the most surprising addition is Cosmo the Spacedog decked out like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. As you might guess, the gift signals the end of filming for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which will release this December....

Del Toro’s Pinocchio is about as different from Disney’s as one could imagine, and not just because this is stop-motion and the latter is traditional animation. For one thing, this is clearly del Toro’s vision, and while it may give perhaps only the littlest viewers a few unpleasant dreams, it is nevertheless infused with the maestro’s Gothic storytelling sensibility (even more so than the 1940 film’s admittedly darker moments). Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio also concerned with many of the same themes that permeate del Toro’s adult-oriented films, including loss, death, memory, the fear of the unknown, and most significantly, the feeling of being an outsider to the world around oneself....

Essentially, “Lover’s Quarrel” is a season highlight and sets up an epic finale....

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 5 Harley Quinn loves to piss people off and the cold open this week may well piss a few people off, but it certainly made this reviewer chuckle. DC Universe’s adult animation series is at its best when it mercilessly mocks itself and, in this case, its viewers. If you’ve ever shared the Release the Snyder Cut hashtag or got angry about Mary Sues, then you might want to forward through this opening unless you don’t mind having a little laugh at yourself....

Hawkeye episode 4, “Partners, Am I Right?”, did the investigative story work that took a backseat in last week’s action-packed installment. Although remaining well-paced, the show slowed down markedly, making its episodic nature feel more frustrating. But in doing so, it also hooked us into a key element of the plot that had been mostly abandoned since the premiere, and did some essential work on both its core mysteries and Clint Barton’s unresolved guilt....

Like a docked boat, Lyra’s journey stalled in one place while other characters were frustrated in their various searches. By the end of the hour, Lord Boreal was still on the trail of Stannislaus Grumann/Col. John Parry, Mrs. Coulter was still on the trail of Lyra (the spy flies only telling her what the Magisterium already knew – that Lyra and the alethiometer were with the Gyptians), and – Benjamin and Tony’s break-in having failed to uncover the location of the Northern station – the Gyptians were still on the trail of their missing children....
