“According to a report from scooper Nick Santos at The Hashtag Show, Lucasfilm is currently developing a trilogy of animated movies inspired by the original concept art for Star Wars. Drawn by Ralph McQuarrie, who helped shape much of the franchise, these illustrations represent some of the earliest ideas that would become one of the greatest science fiction stories ever told. However, a lot of McQuarrie’s concepts never made it into the movies....

The best thing you can do is experiment with the various classes and their available builds. In fact, we probably won’t know what the absolute best builds in the game are until Western audiences have had the chance to experiment with this version of the title and see how that meta shakes out....

Lucifer Season 3 Episode 3 Despite the fact that it appears Fox is back to its old tricks of airing episodes out of their intended order, the triumphant return of Lesley-Ann Brandt’s bounty hunting demon Mazikeen manages to earn the network a pass. “Mr. and Mrs. Mazikeen Smith” provides a magnificent vehicle for Brandt to “burn bright” as one of genre television’s most delightful supporting characters while learning a valuable lesson about her life’s true purpose....

In sweltering 1927 Chicago, the legendary “Mother of the Blues” Ma Rainey (Viola Davis) is in town to record an album; her panic-y white manager (Jeremy Shamos, The Undoing) and production stooge (Jonny Coyne, Preacher) buzz about, trying to control every aspect of the endeavor—the song list, the timetable, the pay—all while Ma and (most of) her accompanying band know who’s really in charge: Ma. A real life singer from Georgia who made it big with Black audiences, Ma is wealthy and powerful in a way that so few queer Black women (or those holding even one of those identities) of her time were, and she knows it....

In the film, Spencer plays Sue Ann, a quiet, seemingly unassuming loner who lives and works as a veterinary assistant in a small Ohio town. One day she’s approached by a group of said teenagers, among them Maggie (Diana Silvers), who’s just moved to town with her newly divorced mom (Juliette Lewis). Sue Ann is reluctant at first, but relents and goes one step further: the kids can come drink safely in her basement....

The trailer doesn’t offer many details (another trend of the evening), but it does feature some sweeping views of space coupled with grand ramblings that conclude with an Asari digging through the snow of an ice planet and uncovering a remnant of discarded N7 armor. The implication is that this is Shepard’s armor and that we’re viewing the aftermath of Mass Effect 3‘s stunning conclusion which seemingly unraveled the fabric of the Mass Effect universe....

Hamish Linklater – Father Paul Samantha Sloyan as Bev Keane The villainous Bev Keane is another stand-out performance in Midnight Mass thanks to Samantha Sloyan, whom you might remember as Leigh Crain, the wife of novelist Steven Crain in 2019’s The Haunting of Hill House. Prior to that, she played Maddie’s neighbour Sarah in Mike Flanagan’s Hush, as well as the recurring roles of Jeannine Locke in Scandal, Dr. Penelope Blake in Grey’s Anatomy, and several appearances as Victoria in SEAL Team....

They are guided by Pelle (Vilhelm Blomgren), a Swedish exchange student who is taking them to his ancestral tribe’s remote village for a festival that happens only once every 90 years. Once they arrive in the land of the Harga, the group’s varying interests — getting away from it all, Ph.D. studies and sampling the local talent — all dissipate in the face of horrific, enigmatic rituals they aren’t prepared for....

“The blood didn’t come out,” Leto says, looking off to the side. “Wanna go again?” On any other production, that little practical-FX slip-up might have been ripe for the post-release blooper reel. But while Leto briefly breaks character to acknowledge the error, there’s no corpsing here – he remains focused, shuffling around on his crutches while the unit quickly sets up for another take. The second run-out is more successful; this time, the knife opens up a big, bloody, creature-baiting gash....

In episode one, the ‘secret’ is all part of a spiel about her having grown up with parents who didn’t love each other and how, thanks to her company, that won’t ever have to happen again. By the finale though, the audience knows that Rebecca really does have a secret....

Never Have I Ever started its journey on Netflix as a unique perspective on the trials and tribulations of teenage life told from a South Asian perspective. Mindy Kaling and her team have found all the right notes through the last three seasons to capture the experience of growing up as a first generation Indian-American. Romance has always been at the heart of the story, but the third season takes the relationships to an entirely different prevalence....

Framed in an eerie slow-boiling dread, as per critics who saw the movie at the Cannes Film Festival while likening it to Robert Eggers’ The Witch and Ari Aster’s Hereditary, Lamb appears to be bathed in an unnatural eeriness. Perhaps then it shouldn’t be a surprise the movie has been picked up by indie tastemaker studio A24 for distribution. The pic stars Noomi Rapace—an actress we’d argue is still the best Lisbeth Salandar out there, and the lead of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus—and Hilmir Snær Guðnason as Maria and Ingvar, a couple who live a quiet life in the wilderness of Iceland....

A fresh clip from Sony and Marvel Studios’ hotly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home makes reference to the Hawkeye TV series currently streaming on Disney+, indicating that the two projects are likely set concurrently in the MCU timeline. The new No Way Home clip premiered on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week and features the opening minute of the Peter Parker and Doctor Strange team-up threequel, which starts exactly where Marvel’s previous web-crawler outing, Spider-Man: Far From Home, left off....
