Jessica Jones—the original working title of the series when it was planned as an ABC show, and seemingly a nod to the show’s episode title conventions, all of which begin with ‘A.K.A.‘ What followed was fervent speculation from news sites that the name change is setting the groundwork for a revival and/or reboot of the character as part of Disney+’s offerings of MCU TV series, much in the vein of Jessica’s fellow Defender Daredevil, currently set to see a revival with the return of Charlie Cox as the titular hero on the streamer....

“Marvel, you’ve done it again!” OK, but seriously…this is the best episode of Loki yet, and one of the best examples of the MCU’s Disney+ TV strategy full stop. Plenty of drama and action, to be sure, but also packed with surprises, some of which are very much things that Marvel Comics and MCU fans will be excited about, and others a little more subtle. Here’s all the good stuff we’ve found in Loki episode 4 so far....

As you might expect, the fan reaction to this change has been…interesting so far. In fact, the first thing that most people pointed out is that Peter Parker’s new face actor bears more than a passing resemblance to current big-screen Spider-Man actor, Tom Holland. While the “Tom Holland” comparison isn’t universal, many do feel that the redesign of the character does trend closer towards Tom Holland’s real-life looks. Some fans are even having quite a bit of fun pointing out that the new model is actually a budget version of the popular actor: While most of the Tom Holland comparisons fans are making are in good fun, some players are going a bit further by suggesting that this change was potentially a deliberate move from Insomniac to associate the game with the MCU (despite the fact the game takes place in a separate universe)....

Ooh, the MCU is a lot, isn’t it? It was always a lot, but now it’s a LOT lot. With the rollout of Phase Four, fans didn’t just have a handful of blockbuster films to keep up with, there were also multiple TV shows streaming on Disney+ that introduced important new characters and corners of the Marvel Universe that interconnected with big budget theatrical releases. It’s been a gamble for Marvel Studios, who first properly tested audience reactions with the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the first half of 2022....

So then to the strange case of Megan is Missing, a low budget exploitation movie shot in 2006, given a limited release in 2011 which is now suddenly trending due to some high profile TikTok users talking about how utterly horrible it is and apparently warning others off with hyperbolic statements such as: @bella.clare please watch this film at your own risk. It is something i will never watch again ....

In case you didn’t hear, Morbius was not quite the disaster Film Twitter and the critics (including this one) thought it might be going into the weekend. At least in terms of box office, the vampire and superhero movie mash-up did okay when it opened to not quite $40 million over the weekend. According to Sony Pictures, the film finished its three-day debut with $39.1 million, which while not the numbers posted by its shared universe stablemates, Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage—those opened at $80 million and $90 million, respectively—it’s also not the disaster of, say, 2015’s Fantastic Four....

Unfortunately, Netflix wasn’t so enthusiastic in the aftermath. The twelfth season only contained six episodes, emphasizing the challenge of binge-watching them. Then Netflix unceremoniously dumped the show. Well, at least we have the fourth season of GLOW to look forward to. …oh, you bastards. But now the MST3K team have a brand-new Kickstarter project, “Let’s Make More MST3K & and Build the Gizmoplex!” Yes, Joel Hodgson and friends are going the Bender route (minus the blackjack and hookers) of making their own streaming service of sorts specifically for MST3K viewing and checking out the brand-new episodes....

If this all sounds a little familiar, that’s because the first reports of New World bricking certain GPU models started to appear during the game’s recent closed beta period. At that time, the New World team issued a statement in which they assured users that these failures were statistically rare and that they had decided to “cap” the game’s menu framerate as a precaution to help prevent further issues. Shortly thereafter, GPU manufacturer EVGA confirmed that some of the bricked GPUs they received from New World players were actually at least partially caused by manufacturing issues related to the smoldering process....

New World mixes the “alternate-history Age of Exploration” with Aeternum’s emphasis on dark fantasy, horror, magic, and mythology. Players will face off with the monsters that live on Aeternum as part of the game’s PvE component. “New World is also a sanitized re-enactment of the European colonization of the Americas and elsewhere,” Polygon reported after participating in a hands-on preview in 2019. “It’s a manifestation of the great white fantasy of virgin territory and new beginnings....

Several days ago, French YouTuber j0nathan posted a video of what he claimed to be leaked information on the next Assassin’s Creed game. His findings (translated here by Twitter user Rebs Gaming) painted a promising picture. According to j0nathan, the upcoming entry is currently known as Assassin’s Creed Mirage and will release sometime between April and June of 2023 (barring any additional delays, of course). While we knew (or strongly suspected) some of that information already, the arguably highlight of this apparent leak is the information related to the next Assassin’s Creed game’s rumored setting....
