Earlier this week, I got another chance to go hands-on with an alpha version of the game, and this time I explored a new region called Reekwater, a swampy, bayou-inspired zone that introduces new creatures and a robust fishing mechanic. At virtually any body of water, you can pull out a fishing rod, attach bait to your hook if you’ve got it, and cast a line in hopes of catching one of the game’s 40-plus different species of fish....

Originally announced back in 2018 for Syfy, the series will presumably focus, like the movie, on Midian, an underground world where outcast creatures and human/monster hybrids attempt to live in peace out of sight of the world above. The original movie was a box office and critical disappointment but has gained a cult following over the years. Nightbreed was based on Barker’s 1988 novella Cabal and was the author’s second directorial effort after he made Hellraiser in 1987....

For the primary “hero” (and massive stoner) Ulysses (Avan Jogia) that dream is true love. For his roommate Ford, played by Beau Mirchoff, an acceptable endgame is a fruitful writing career. Ford’s partner, the mystifying Severine (Roxane Mesquida), bends relationship expectations while hunting for scientific success. The trio’s uninhibited friend Carly (Kelli Berglund), like countless others in Los Angeles, simply wants to be a well-known actor. Director and writer Gregg Araki’s TV foray draws upon his successes in indie filmmaking, notably from his groundbreaking and proudly queer titles Totally Fucked Up, The Doom Generation and Nowhere....

“The Battle Joined” is another impressive addition to Outlander TV show canon, especially the episode’s opening minutes, which I went into detail about here. For a show that plays so gleefully with time, the story picks back up not so long after the 18th century events of the season finale and stays tight on Jamie as he deals with the horrific aftermath of the Battle of Culloden. While so many shows use plot twists to increase suspense, Outlander uses emotion to do the same to much greater, more consistent effect....

That’s all great, but we know you’re here to see when you’ll actually be able to play Outriders. The answer to that question is surprisingly complicated. Square Enix and developer People Can Fly are utilizing a somewhat strange release structure for Outriders, which means that you’re going to have to keep an eye on the clock (and probably do a little math) if you’re looking to start playing the game as soon as possible....

Veteran Overwatch heroes Bastion and Torbjörn are currently “missing” from Overwatch 2, and fans are starting to go mad looking for any indication of when they will fully return to the game. Bastion and Torbjörn’s mysterious absence has been complicated by Overwatch 2‘s many bugs and generally rough launch. At first, fans suspected that the missing heroes were simply suffering from yet another Overwatch 2 bug. While that does seem to be part of the problem, the full story regarding the missing heroes paints a slightly different (and very confusing) picture....

Netflix’s decision to split Ozark’s final season into two separate parts seems to have worked. Audiences are left impatiently wondering what will happen to Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman), Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney), and Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) when the hit crime series returns for its final run this summer. Ozark season 4 episode 7 leaves off with Ruth furiously threatening to kill the Byrde patriarch after she thinks that they are to blame for the death of her cousin, Wyatt (Charlie Tahan)....

When Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, numerous titles officially joined the Xbox family. Some, like Gabriel Knight and Guitar Hero, have been in hibernation for years, while others, such as Call of Duty, are among the most lucrative games on the market. Now that Microsoft owns that iconic shooter series, many gamers are worried it will become an Xbox/Windows exclusive. Microsoft says that they intend to honor existing contracts with rival platforms, so Call of Duty: Warzone fans won’t suddenly lose PlayStation support overnight, but the keyword in that arrangement is existing contracts....

So far as that goes, you should first know that it’s not possible to catch any of the game’s Legendary Pokémon until the very end of the game’s main story (most of them can only be caught after completing the game’s main story). That being the case, you really should feel free to just play the game at your preferred pace and just enjoy yourself before you start fretting about whether or not you’ve missed your chance....

This weekend’s Prey is the culmination of years of passion, and years of planning, from the filmmaker who wrested the Predator movies away from their recent and failed experiments of franchise-building in the future. Instead the new movie finds a simple and potent blend of historical fiction and sci-fi fantasy when one of those aliens from above decides to go hunting on Comanche lands during the early 1700s....

Lee Child’s Jack Reacher franchise has become something of a big deal. Across the last couple of decades, the crime-thriller series has garnered hundreds of millions of dollars in combined sales between books, movies, and merchandise. The titular protagonist has garnered a cult following for his combination of masculine fortitude and wily problem solving. It’s the type of setup that really deserves long-form storytelling, and that’s why the film adaptation of the novels was disappointing for fans of Child’s work....

In a new post on Instagram, the actor seemed confidently ‘done’ with playing straight characters, including his long running role as Prison Break’s Michael Scofield. Miller previously came out as gay back in August 2013 after penning a letter on GLAAD’s website about how “deeply troubled” he was by the Russian government’s treatment of LGBT citizens. Miller played the role of Scofield over five seasons on Fox from 2006 to 2017, which included a later revival....

Johnson recently provided a potent answer to a fan’s question on Twitter about an unrealized concept for The Last Jedi that would have seen Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) reunite with a spectral version his formerly wayward father, Anakin Skywalker, played by Christensen. As it turns out, the idea was ultimately nixed in favor of a key scene in which Luke instead has a more familiar reunion with Ghost Yoda. When asked if he ever considered including Force Ghost Anakin, Johnson explains, “Briefly for the tree burning scene, but Luke’s relationship was with Vader not really Anakin, which seemed like it would complicate things more than that moment allowed....

Rick and Morty Season 5 Episode 6 Happy Thanksgiving, for some reason! This is another episode that brings back one of Rick’s recurring frenemies, the President of the United States as played by Keith David, to deal with a world-ending catastrophe the two caused themselves in a display of sci-fi power dick-measuring. Keith David has an awesome voice, so it’s always nice to hear him reprising this role and he gets so much to do here that it’s really more like an episode of Rick and Morty and the President....

Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 10 Nobody is going to believe me, but I actually had one more paragraph at the end of my review last week in which I worried there’d be a reveal in this week’s finale that would render how nice Rick had been to Morty entirely moot and make me look like an idiot. Unfortunately, I removed said paragraph because I felt my review would “read better” and now I’ve lost the staggering amount of credibility I’d built up with the Rick and Morty fanbase!...

Saints Row is the long-awaited return to open-world, gang-centric mayhem that audiences love (with a few notable changes to the series’ tone and sense of humor).
